Position & Perks

The role of the HVAC Technician is to ensure that our concept facilities are maintained and repaired quickly and efficiently, limiting operational down time due to equipment malfunction or failure at the restaurant level.  Equipment includes HVAC, Exhausters, Electrical, and all kitchen equipment. The HVAC Technician should be a thorough minded individual with an attention to detail balancing expenses with good judgement to make repairs and ensure maintenance of buildings, machinery, and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair HVAC/ refrigeration & Cooking Equipment systems.
  • Execute Preventative Maintenance program; including audits and reporting.
  • Implement, execute and monitor restaurant maintenance and repair programs.
  • Perform maintenance, repairs and complete purchases cost effectively and in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Maintain and submit “Maintenance/Repair Log”; including tracking and invoicing of service calls and critical issues.
  • Provide regular reporting indicating trends, potential issues, proposed solutions, equipment abuse/misuse, etc.
  • Maximize budget spend through quantity discounts and tracking and monitoring warranties.
  • Review approve and process invoices promptly.
  • Maintain company equipment, tools and property in a safe and secure fashion.
  • Partner with Facilities Manager in recommending major equipment purchases, use of vendors for major repairs, and repair vs. buy decisions.
  • Complete quarterly inventory of Service Truck parts, tools and equipment and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
  • Provide general facilities maintenance education and coaching to management team members.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with management team members.
  • Adhere to all company safety and security policies.
  • Securely maintain and responsibly use Company issued credit cards, cell phone and laptop computer per company policies.
  • Remain flexible to work non-traditional schedule which could include nights, weekends and holidays as assigned.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license (with acceptable driving record), safely operate company issued vehicle, and travel within the state of New Jersey on a daily basis. Incumbent must live in a centrally located position to assigned locations to ensure accessibility.
  • Maintain company issued vehicle ensuing regularly scheduled service, cleanliness and organization.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.
  • Maintain professional image and presence at all times, including guest interactions/encounters.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic math skills
  • Proficient with a computer and Microsoft Office
  • Proven working experience in carpentry and general repair
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in teams managing a team of workers and multiple projects
  • Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
  • Thorough understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
  • Dependable and strong work ethic
  • Basic math skills; able to calculate volume and measure materials to be cut
  • Must have own hand tools; Power and specialty tools will be supplied
  • Complete computer/administrative work accurately and efficiently
  • Competent in dealing with emergency situations
  • Able to multitask and manage time efficiently
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • High observation and good time management skills
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and execute daily tasks to meet deadlines
  • Ensures that vehicle is driven safely, and traffic laws are obeyed.
