Position & Perks

This position is responsible for providing the highest level of staffing services to Doherty Enterprises leaders and associates. This position delivers high quality professional and executive-level candidates and advances the Doherty Brand throughout our markets and communities, while guiding hiring managers and candidates through the Doherty selection process. This individual will source candidates for recruitment. Manage candidates through the recruiting and selection process; manage client relationships, complete projects that enhance the recruiting experience. Keep abreast of trends and innovative recruiting techniques in order to be competitive in state-of-the-art recruiting practices.

 

This position is a hybrid position, working remote and travel to restaurants in the Long Island NY and New York Metro market when needed.  This person should live in the Long Island NY area.

Responsibilities

 

  • Identify, source and recruit qualified candidates for positions.
  • Client Management-working with hiring managers, group or organization leads, and senior leadership to understand recruiting needs and developing strategy to meet hiring goals.
  • Candidate Management-developing and executing sourcing plans to identify and recruit people with skills matching the hiring needs, creating relationships with candidates to facilitate process and offer accept.
  • Develop and maintain a network of contacts to help identify and source qualified leaders.
  • Leverage online recruiting resources and in-house ATS to identify and recruit the very best candidates.
  • Create and foster relationships with colleges and diverse professional organizations to attract and recruit alumni and diversity candidates.
  • Review resumes and credentials for appropriateness of skills, experience and knowledge in relation to position requirements.
  • Provide complete, accurate, and inspiring information to candidates about the company and position.
  • Prescreens and interviews all candidates presented for detailed interviewing by hiring managers, and includes the use of face-to-face behavioral-based interviewing methodologies.
  • Manages and coordinates all communication with candidates.
  • Manages the scheduling and logistics of all interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
  • Prepares candidates for interviewing with Doherty Enterprises and specific hiring managers by providing detailed information on the company, our business strategy, job descriptions, and expectation-setting.
  • Performs detailed reference checking on selected candidates.
  • Extends offers of employment to selected candidates under the direction of the hiring managers and within the guidelines of Doherty Enterprises compensation policy.
  • Manages the presentation, selection, offer, negotiation, closing and administrative components involved in the recruiting process.
  • Uses effective communication approaches that included proactively keeping others informed, appropriately expressing ideas and thoughts verbally and in written form, and timeliness.
  • Works cooperatively with all members of the staffing team to develop and implement staffing plans and activities.
  • Participates in the development of ongoing creative and cost-effective sourcing strategies.
  • Develops an effective pipeline of key talent potentially available for immediate hire as succession planning needs dictate.
  • Stays informed of trends and innovative recruiting techniques in order to be competitive in state-of-the-Art recruiting practices.
  • Build successful candidate profiles, clarify job skills and competencies and use the best sourcing strategies and techniques for each job category.
  • Can attract and find the right candidates for each job and use each sourcing technique effectively, establish rapport with potential candidates.
  • Is able to use and interpret various assessment methods in order to make the most valid and reliable decisions about a candidate’s fit to the company, team, and job.
  • Presents strengths and opportunities of leading candidates, overcome objections in the hiring process, sell the opportunity and negotiate final agreement.

Qualifications

We're looking for a dynamic person with awesome people skills that is located in either Long Island NY or Central New Jersey.

This person will have held the position of Recruiter rather than Recruited as part of their job as a Manager.

  • 3-5 years experience in recruiting, preferably in the restaurant/retail industry.
  • Can work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the business
  • Excellent project management, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Strong initiative and solid judgment abilities/skills.
  • Must be able to travel to restaurants, café’s and pubs when necessary to meet candidates, in addition travel to corporate office when necessary.
  • Experience with iCIMS a plus
