As a Host/Hostess you will greet and seat all guests in a friendly manner and assist in maintaining the overall guest flow of the restaurant and engage in guest readiness behaviors.

Responsibilities

 

  • Opens door for guests arriving and departing.
  • Walk guests to their table while engaging them in conversation.
  • Highlight menu items or specials for the guest after seating them.
  • Accommodates any special needs of guests, i.e., boosters, highchairs, disabilities.
  • Manages Open Table and additional reservations.
  • Manages the Wait List when the restaurant is full.
  • Provides guest assistance to servers as needed.
  • Fills out daily entertainment and specials on feature chalk board.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area and completes cleaning as assigned.
  • Changes out old menus, set tables with pub menus for late night and replenishes kid menus.
  • Maintains clean windows.
  • Checks restrooms and alerts managers of any issues.
  • Guest readiness duties including stocking, cleaning host and foyer area, clearing tables, rolling silver, and maintaining overall dining room and foyer presentation.

Qualifications

 

  • Reading, writing, and basic math and verbal communication skills required.
  • Communicate effectively with guests in person and on the phone.
  • Mobility required during entire shift.
  • Must be able to stand and exert a well-paced mobility for periods up to four hours in length.
  • Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and other employees.
  • Transports and carries objects (such as high-chair) up to 15 pounds up to 15 times a shift.
  • Ability to wipe down table tops, table legs, pick up debris off the floor and wipe down booth seats in all areas of the restaurant.
  • 18+ years old
