Position & Perks

The role of the Senior Accountant is to manage the accounting and financial reporting process for assigned concept and region, provide analysis, and ensure the integrity of the organization’s accounting information to protect company assets and maximize profitability. This role supervises trains and mentors other accountants in a full charge environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and validates all aspects of the financial records for the restaurants in assigned territory.
  • Conducts and provides accounting analytics including recommendations and variance analysis.
  • Reconciles General Ledger account balances.
  • Supervises and validates monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing procedures.
  • Assists Controller with financial statement consolidation.
  • Assist with assessment and implementation of internal controls, including risk identification and prevention.
  • Review and submit sales tax returns for assigned concept and region.
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules.
  • Validate and maintain processes and procedures in accordance with General Accounting Practices.
  • Provide assistance to internal and external audit functions including preparation of audit schedules.
  • Select, develop, motivate and build a strong team; including performance management.
  • Stay current with industry regulations and trends and apply to the organization as required.
  • Maintain and protect confidential information.

Qualifications

  • BS or BA degree in Accounting or related field
  • 5+ years’ hands on accounting experience including P & L and Balance Sheet responsibilities
  • Public Accounting experience or CPA preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in general accounting principles
  • Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing and evaluating financial statements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to present information to and interact with senior leadership
  • Highly organized with a preference for working in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and timelines.
  • Great Plains and NetSuite software experience a plus, as well as ERP implementation experience.
  • Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers, Microsoft Office, and typical office equipment (e.g. Telephones, copier, fax machine, Email, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; displaying etiquette, professionalism, and an enthusiastic “can-do” attitude in person and on the phone
  • Advanced math skills: ability to calculate figures, amounts, and percentages, and apply concepts of mathematics relating to financial calculations
  • Is self-motivated; able to work with limited supervision
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions; meet critical deadlines
